The Okland Difference

Strong Foundations

Okland Construction is built upon a continuing legacy of innovation, craftsmanship, and integrity. Our origins can be traced back to 1918, when John Okland applied his knowledge of carpentry and shipbuilding, gained in his native Norway, to start a one-man millwork company. Today, Okland has grown to over 1,000 team members, but we still mirror John’s dedication to using creative means to achieve remarkable results.

This pioneering spirit has propelled us into new industries and new frontiers, helping us earn trust as we seek to innovate and create mutually beneficial partnerships with the best clients and trade partners in the industry. Still a family-owned business, we have retained a tight-knit, relationship-focused culture and feel a sense of personal and company pride in the work we do. This dedication to craftsmanship and desire to create remarkable experiences binds our teams together and makes Okland a fulfilling, enjoyable place to work day in and day out.

our how

Core Values

Our behavior is driven by our core values. These values are deeply integrated into how we do business and how we build every relationship. We believe every action earns trust, each project deserves to be distinct, every challenge is an opportunity to grow, creativity delivers value, and mutual success should be our common goal.

Be Distinct

We find the “wow” in every experience by challenging the status quo and pursuing creative ways to deliver extraordinary results. With fanatical attention to quality and execution, we ensure every outcome is truly distinct.

Earn Trust

We do what we say we will do, treating others with respect while taking ownership and remaining accountable for our commitments. Through proactive, transparent communication, we eliminate surprises and always do the right thing.

Deliver Value

We do more with less by staying solution-oriented and erring on the side of action. By reducing red tape and empowering individual ingenuity, we pair the resources of a large company with the agility and personal touch of a small one.

Be Humble

We recognize the role others play in our success and take ownership of our mistakes, using them as opportunities to learn. By welcoming feedback and embracing challenges, we commit to continuous growth and improvement.

Create Shared Success

We believe great things happen when teams unite around a shared goal. By exchanging knowledge, rewarding ambition, and sharing success, we foster growth and create an environment where our teams and our communities thrive.
SAFETY

Safe Because We CARE

At Okland, we hold an unwavering commitment to sustaining a “zero-harm” culture because we care deeply about the safety of our team members, trade partners, clients, and community.

In our people-centric approach, we emphasize the importance of each individual taking personal responsibility for the well-being of their colleagues, ensuring that everyone can safely reunite with their loved ones at the end of the day.

Our innovative safety program, CARE, exceeds industry standards and charts a proactive, preventative path to safety. In order to Create A Remarkable Experience on our jobsites every day, we have to CARE enough to:

  • Know and Control the Fatal 10 and Frequent 4
  • Speak Up regardless of hierarchy
  • Accept Guidance with gratitude
  • Celebrate good catches and learn from near misses
  • Drive the safety program with all on-site partners
