Waterford School Science Center

Waterford School Science Center is a two-story science and technology facility that brings together specialized learning environments to support a broad range of academic programs and hands-on educational experiences. The building includes six classrooms serving biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, natural history, molecular biology, zoology, botany, and biotechnology studies, along with dedicated space for the school’s outdoor education program and robotics build and competition activities.
The project integrates learning opportunities directly into the built environment. Exposed steel truss beams, elevator systems, and geothermal mechanical systems allow students to observe building systems in operation and explore the practical application of science and engineering concepts. A taxidermy collection featuring specimens from around the world further enriches the educational experience.
Sustainable features include rooftop solar panels, native low-water landscaping, extensive natural daylighting, and a geothermal system supported by 45 shafts extending 400ft below the campus soccer field, reinforcing the facility’s focus on science, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
